honeymoon is st louis?

I have been researching places to go on our honeymoon. Has anyone been to St. Louis? What would you recommend doing, where should we stay? I was looking into the queens hotel and casino romance package. Anyone ever been there?

Re: honeymoon is st louis?

  • I live in St. Louis but never really thought of it as a honeymoon destination... but there is a lot to do!Personally, I would not stay at the Casino Queen. It's a little old-school Atlantic city with a big retirement home crowd. If you want to stay at a casino how about Lumiere, Harrah's or AmeriStar?Fun things to do would be the Anheuser Busch brewery tour, Soulard Farmers Market, the zoo and Forest Park, Busch Stadium for a baseball game or a Rams game at the Edward Jones dome and City Museum. You could also take a trip out to the wineries.www.missouriwine.org
  • I don't think it is really a honeymoon destination. We are   choosing it because it is close to drive only about 7 hours, and it looks like there is a lot to do on a tight budget. We really don't care to stay in a casino but we wanted to see the arch from the room and that was an option witht he queens casino. Where else would you recommend staying?
  • There are plenty of downtown hotels with an Arch view.  I also would not recomment the Casino Queen, though.  You could look into the Millenium Hotel, its got an incredible view of downtown.  For our wedding night we stayed at the Omni Majestic, which doesnt have a view of the Arch but it a really beautiful old hotel.  There is plenty to do in St. Louis.  I never thought of it as a honeymoon destination, but you can certainly keep busy, and there are a lot of romantic places to visit and eat.  Forest Park is probably the main tourist destination, and for good reason.  If you want to venture out a little bit, there are some great wineries and bed in breakfasts in rural missouri.  http://www.missouriwinecountry.com/Good luck!
  • I agree with golfer lady, and not staying at casino queen. Lots to do if you go during warm months- a lot of parks. Also have six flags, and wineries are also great. Hermanoff and stone hilll are a couple of the bigger ones.
