Help! My fiancé and I are having a hard time finding a honeymoon spot.
We are apprehensive because we are getting married in August (the nicest time of year here) so we were going to stay local- but we figured, we mine as well leave our area and take an actual vacation just for the fact that we would be someplace where we wouldn’t be tempted to get on our cell phones and check in at work and would be “removed” from home.
This is what we want:
All inclusive (but NOT Sandals or Beaches, chains)
Nice but affordable, I’m a bit of a hotel snob but we also want to not blow the budget on this trip
NOT Jamaica or Dominican or Puerto Rico
We basically want to lie on a beach, drink margaritas and fry ourselves.
We are more apt to travel to Caribbean than Mexico because it’s a shorter flight and we are just thinking of taking a quick trip honeymoon that is easy breezy. (We have already planned another “honeymoon” trip for February 2013 to Greece and have a Vegas trip planned at end of year 2012 with friends).
Right now we have found Cocobay in Antiqua. But we haven’t heard a lot about it, the trip advisor reviews are mixed and I can’t find many people on here that have stayed there…. (I searched the forum)
