I'm breaking with tradition a bit and walking down the aisle to Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring. It's a variation of the Shaker folk song "Simple Gifts." I chose this because it has a very triumphant ending that I think is fitting for the bride and because it fits the themes of my wedding- Spring and Simple. My bridesmaids will enter in the earlier part of the song.
^If you watch this, the part I come in at is 2:23
My grandma flipped out when I told her I wasn't walking to the "Here comes the bride" Bridal March from Lohengrin. She acted like it was sacrilegious to walk to anything else, but I know that's just her nature. I had to explain to her that the song has nada to do with church. Its from a Wagner opera. In fact, some churches won't allow it because it does not glorify God. Not many, but some.
What songs are you ladies thinking of using?
