Bachelorette Party

Where are you/did you have your bachelorette party? Mine is a suprise, but from what I've been hearing there has been some disagreement among my girls about where we should go, so I'm just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or reccomendations?

Re: Bachelorette Party

  • I'm hoping to have mine at the CT shore, but I'm trying to not be too pushy about it haha. I like the idea of hanging out by the beach, then going out for dinner and drinks together, and spending the night. Sorry I can't really help!

  • I am kind of having two. Next weekend my bridesmaids and I are going to Newport for the weekend. My parents have a condo but it's not big enough to fit all of my friends. I'm hoping to relax, go to the beach and out to dinner.

Then, at the end of June all of my bridesmaids + friends from college (all of my bridesmaids are also my college friends except for my sister so it's all the same group) are going out to brunch in the city and having champagne and cupcakes. I don't really drink so a night out wasn't really something I wanted to do.

  • I had mine a few weeks ago and my girls took me to Mohegan Sun. I'm not a big gambler so we didn't even do that. But they got a few rooms to stay the night and we ate dinner, drank, saw a few performers in the Wolf Den, then went to the club where Run DMC was DJing. I had an absolute blast and my girls made the night extremely memorable.

What do you usually like to do for fun? If you like the club/party scene, Mohegan Sun was a lot of fun. Or I know people who have rented limos and just gone out for a night on the town. Others have done spa days or beach days too.

I think it completely depends upon what you like and are into. I have been to wild and crazy bachelorette parties in the city and then laid back ones in a home.  I threw my sister a Hawaiian themed "luau" at my house for her bachelorette party b/c she didn't want to do the whole night out. I have a friend who recently  took a party bus to High Roller Bowling at Foxwoods and she said that was a blast.

My bachelorette party wish is to get a limo and go to different wineries (I have done this before and had so much fun).  My future sister in-law has family members with homes on Long Island so she graciously offered one of them up for a weekend (nothing has yet to be planned).  My hope is to head to LI on Friday night and go to dinner, Saturday the wineries during the day and then hang out at the house at night.  I will not be pushy either and will be happy with just a dinner and time with my girls.

Hopefully your girls will be able to agree upon something that you will enjoy. Good luck and let us know the end result.

I think it depends on what you like to do...for one of my friends we went tubing down Satans Kingdom.  Fun, but the day was a bit cold.  For others we have just gone bar hopping downtown hartford getting free drinks.

  • My MOH is throwing mine at Foxwoods at The Shrine. I actually did hers there 2 years ago when she was getting married and it was so much fun! We checked in, went and hung out at the pool/hot tub--went out to dinner at the casino and then went to The Shrine for dancing/drinks!!

  • We also did the casino but no one gambled.  My MOH and I went up Friday night, had a nice dinner, went to a few bars... then she treated me to a massage/manicure/pedicure the next day... the rest of the girls met up with us later that afternoon. We had dinner and went to the club afterwards- my MOH reserved a table w/bottle service.  Definitely lots of fun.
  • I went to Foxwoods for mine.  We checked in and had a few drinks in the room, got dinner and then did the bowling and then went to drink more and one of the bars.
  • Mine is in 3 weeks.  We are going to the spa at Water's Edge (yup, going to my work on my day off), then we are going to the beach for a while if we have time since our beach house is 15 mins away.  The girls that aren't going to the spa and the ones that are going home to spend some time with their babies will meet up with us for dinner at the Back Porch in Old Saybrook.  Then I think we are heading to the casinos for some bar-hopping.  As much as it's a bachelorette party for me I want my 3 girlfriends with babies to have a fun night out without their babies as well.  It's obviously been over a year since we've been able to do the casino bar-hopping.

  • Thanks everyone! It seems like the casinos are a popular spot! :)
