    1. The biggest struggle has been deciding where to go, and the financial problems associated with it.

    2. The top questions about honeymoon planning that I have are:  how much money should we budget for our honeymoon?  How much time do we allot for travel, sightseeing, and time alone?

    3.  The most time-consuming task has been deciding where to go!  Looking into hotels, travel, and planning our adventures when we get there.
  • Options
1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
It was probably knowing when to book so that we got the best price.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?  When to book?  What to pack? What will the weather be like?

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon? Researching the area we were visiting and what we wanted to do when we got there.
  • Options
1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
Narrowing down where we wanted to go.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
What should we pack?  How long should we go for?  Sightseeing to do while there.

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
The most time consuming was watching flights, then after we booked was reading all the reviews and watching travel forums to make sure I knew as much as possible about where we were going.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
Just about past experiences.  What did you like, what didn't you like, what does the average person leaving this area know that they didn't when they first got there?

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
    Researching excursions

<div>1. The biggest struggle was sorting our our budget, and then deciding what destination fit in that budget.  His parents kept hinting for months that they were going to help us financially but wouldnt tell us how much, was very frustrating trying to work out where to go when we didnt know how much funding we would have!</div><div>
</div><div>2. Top questions were regarding where to stay, best neighborhoods and areas to stay and visit, activities and excusions.  Neither one of us has been to Thailand before, so we are both full of questions about whats going to happen once we land.</div><div>
</div><div>3. Time consuming task... that would have to be finding the right hotel! Im trying to get the best possible deal - low price, prime location, great reviews, and a bunch of other criteria so it is taking me a while sorting through hotel reviews and maps to figure out where to stay! For our destination for the most part you plan tours once you get there so the big pre-flight thing is hotel!</div>

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
The initial deciding of where to go. We had a couple of Carribbean islands we were bouncing between.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
We decided to book through a discount website (LuxuryLink) so we were a little nervous about whether it was a good site to work through. Also what were the "must-do's" while we're there?

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
Picking the location. My FI did crazyyyy amounts of research. Reviews, comparing costs, flights all that stuff. Probably a good 6 months.

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
One of the biggest struggles is keeping within our budget, and getting the best bang out of our buck. It was also a struggle to decide whether to steer clear from the hurrican belt as we are honeymooning 1st week of October.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
Top questions were how long the honeymoon should be, the best place to go within our budget, what our excursions options are outside of a resort.

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
Most time consuming task is deciding the actual location, and then researching and comparing the different resorts in that area.

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
Deciding where to go and keeping within our small budget.  FI wanted a cruise but I'm not too keen on the idea (slightly clausterphobic and I sometimes get anxious in really large crowds) so it's been tough deciding where else we could go.  I think we've settled on St. Augustine, FL though :)

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
How can I make myself calm down and relax and actually ENJOY the honeymoon?!  I'm a planner and always over plan things and it's still a year out, but I'm already beginning the daily plans for honeymoon activities... I really just don't know how to chill out and go with the flow.  I need advice on how to do this, lol

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
Researching the area!  And trying to decide what type of lodging we want.  We're accustomed to normal hotels but are thinking of trying a B&B... researching the ten million B&Bs in the area has taken a while.

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?

Balancing travel time with the destination. We'd love to go to the Maldives, but is it worth the multiple planes and almost full day of travel? Or would we rather find a direct flight to the Caribbean, where the destination isn't as fabulous, but we won't be jetlagged?

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?

How do we pick a Caribbean destination. There are SO MANY islands, and then the different locales on each island!

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?

    Arguing about it.:)

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
Deciding where to go - we knew were were doing a mini-moon after the wedding and a bigger trip in a year or two.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
Where to go, how to maximize our limited time (work schedules prevented a long vacation), how to get the best deals.

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
Trying to figure out where to go and how long - that was the hard part.  After that, it was hopping on hotels.com to book a room and then on to amtrak.com to book our train tickets.

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
Fluctuating prices of flights.  When we booked our cruise, we found flights at a price we thought was too high and we thought we could do better.  Since then, prices have increased $100+ per person.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
Basically just getting opinions on which excursions to book.

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
Checking flights.  I have been checking every single day since we booked in January, hoping the prices will go down.  No luck yet.

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?

Deciding if we want to do a two week, all-out, no expense spared trip because a honeymoon is a good way to justify a trip like that, or if we should be a little more responsible and stick with something a little more reasonble.  (ex. fiji and new zealand vs. caribbean/mexico)

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?

How to plan a farther flung trip (i.e. Thailand, New Zealand/Australia).  This board seems very focused on more traditional honeymoon  locations (Hawaii, Mexico/Caribbean)

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?

Figuring out how to best use our airline miles!  Best combination of dates and location for our needs.

    1. Biggest Struggles:Deciding where we wanted to go and for how long. We debated between beach vacations and more adventurous vacations like hiking or camping, and it took us a while to decide which would be better. We also couldn't decide whether we wanted to do a quick, more local trip right after the wedding and a longer trip later on, or if we wanted to go for one week right after the wedding.

    2. Top Questions: Which beaches or locations will give us the most bang for our buck? Where are safe places to travel? Which places may be affected by hurricanes or other weather (we're traveling in October)? What other things do we need to look out for?

    3. Most Time-Consuming Task: Picking a hotel! Once we'd decided on the location, we wanted to be sure to get a good deal while still being central to everything and having all of the amenities we wanted.

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
<strong>Trying to find a nice, not huge all inclusive resort that my FI and I both will enjoy and is in budget. I want a place where we don't have to get up early to get pool chairs etc. and want a plunge pool - he wants a beach front place and I want us both to be happy and w/in budget. It's scary spending thousands of dollars not knowing what you're gonna get!</strong>
2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
<strong>I've noticed there's a difference btwn all inclusive and allinclusive couples only/no kids. I wish more places would be upfront that families are there etc. Also want to know how crowded places are and if they're truly worth the investment/money.</strong>
3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
<strong>Looking up places and reading reviews on them. I never imagined having to get up early to find pool chairs, not be able to get reservations at restaurants etc in all inclusives, when you're spending 4-5K a week on the room. Thus, it's more and more time dedicated to finding exactly what we want.</strong>

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
Finding a destination that would get the most for our money and also be the right fit for us.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
When is the best time to book trips/flights?  Which excursions are best?  Is it best to book our excursions ahead of time (online) or once we arrive (at the hotel)?

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
The most time-consuming task so far was the research we did before booking.  We spent a lot of time asking questions and comparing different hotel/flight rates online.

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?

Where to go that is truly within budget? So many choices, from Europe to Hawaii, to the Caribeean. In the end we settled on beach time in St. Maarten since it has amazing food places and lots of beaches to visit. We are not all-inclusive people and like to explore.

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?

To go with a Travel Agent or do it ourselves? In the end, we did it ourselves because the prices coming in from the agents we spoke to were outside of our budget.

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?

Researching hotels, airfare, car rentals, etc.

1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
The biggest struggle for my fiance and I is finding a date. Our wedding is in August and finding a wedding date alone was a struggle by itself. FI is in the Army and is stationed 5,000 miles away from me, family and the location of the wedding. For the longest time, he couldn't get a for sure leave daye to come home. They kept declining the dates he asked for. Finally, his leave orders were approved, with 3 months to plan our August 2012 wedding. As of now, we are waiting to plan a Honeymoon until (probably) he is no longer enlisted, which will be many years! :(

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
Some questions we have run into when thinking about the Honeymoon is where to go. We hear so many horror stories these days about different honeymoon locations. We want an islad getaway, as do many newlyweds. We are wondering about all inclusive resorts where we can soak up all the sun, explore the island/country, but still feel safe about where we are.

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
Like I stated above in the first question, our planning isn't really "in the happening currently", unfortanutely. Right now we are saving up the money and focusing on the wedding itself. He has a week to be home with me after the wedding before he has to go back to his base and we are planning on taking a small road trip Up North. We are both from Michigan, where the wedding is and we are planning on going to the Upper Penninsula for a few days! I can't wait to spend all the time I can in that time period with my future husband!! :)

[QUOTE]Hi Brides, We’ll be holding a sweeps on this board starting now. It will run through Friday, May 11 at 11:59 p.m. To enter, reply to this thread and answer the 3 questions below. We’ll choose one winner at random to receive a $50 American Express gift card. 1.) What has been one of your biggest struggles with planning your honeymoon?
The biggest struggle has been determining the logistics of traveling to multiple locations (i.e. renting a car, planning where to stay, determining which airport to fly into)

2.) What are some of the top questions you have about honeymoon planning (maybe you’ve already asked them on this board)?
    - How much is too much as far as scheduled activities?
    - What seasons are the best for different areas?
    - Should we use a travel agent?
    - How can we save money while still indulging?

3.) What has been the most time-consuming task while planning your honeymoon?
Researching! Because the honeymoon has such high expectations we want everything to be perfect.  We have spent many hours looking online at different locations and resorts to narrow down what we really want.
