Secrets - Punta Cana

Has anyone been to or heard about Secrets in Punta Cana? FI wants to book the honeymoon there but I can't find all the info I am looking for and when he called the voicemail was full. In my mind those are red flags, but he really wants to go there.

They have great reviews. And I think there may have been a couple of ladies on here that went there. But I am not sure if those ladies are still around. What specific questions do you have about it? And have you checked out Trip Advisor?

I can't do too much research at work, but just going off the little I could do I was wondering about transportation to and from the airport and if you have to pay the whole amount at once or if you can pay a deposit and then in increments. I plan to look more when I get home, but was just curious if anyone had been or heard of anyone that went. Pretty pictures are great, but pictures are rarely true.

I really didn't like that a professional business has a full voicemail.

That is the Trip Advisor for Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana which I assume is the one you are talking about.

The deposit and incriments depends on where you book through. Many travel agents and websites will allow you to do a deposit (I think usually half of it at least) and then a couple of payments. Some make you pay the entire amount up front. Most resorts also include the transportation but some do not.

We booked our HM here for August. We went through a family friend travel agent on Apple vacations and it included transportation to and from the airport. We opted to pay in full but could've put down a deposit. I found the secrets website extremely informative and the trip advisor reviews confusing. As with any place there were positive and negative reviews but overall I thought the pros outweighed any cons and I especially liked that it's adults only but you do have the option to use the adjacent resort. We were deciding between excellence, paradisus Palma real and secrets.

Thanks! Like I said I couldn't do too much from work and was able to look into it a lot more at home. My issues with their website were related to our old as heck IT guy who insists we use outdated IE and blocks everything which I only found out when I used my computer with updated software and no blocks.

We went to the Excellence in Punta Cana.  We were extremely happy with our stay there.  They upgraded us to a honeymoon suite for free, where we had our own balcony with a small private pool on it.  The service was great, and the resort offered many amenities as well.

We went to Punta Cana (Tortuga Bay in the Punta Cana resort), and it was amazing.  The resort company owns the International Airport, and guarantees to have you off the plane, through customs, and on resort grounds within 15 minutes!  That was just a great prelude to a wonderful honeymoon package, complete with a luxurious couples massage, horseback rides on the beach, a romantic suite overlooking the ocean, etc etc.  I highly recommend this particular place in Punta Cana.  Oh, and if you go, please make sure to try some of the Punta Cana Ecological Preserve honey--it is delicious!  And please buy me some; I'm completely serious when I say I'll pay you back for any shipping expenses.
