Name Change

For anyone that has recently changed their name I have a few questions. 
When going to Social Security, what documents do you have to bring? Did you have to make an appointment? I know for the DMV you have to pay to get a new License but do iI have to pay at SS? Thanks

    You don't pay anything to the SS, you need to print and fill out form on their website (if it isn't filled out when you get there they won't let you check in), no you don't need an apt (never go in the beginning of the week... I went on either a Wed or Thurs at like 1:30pm and only waited 15 minutes), and you need your marriage license, drivers license, old SS card, and I brought my passport just incase.
