Need advice - which month is best?

I'm plannning on an outdoor/barn wedding.  The venue we're looking at only does weddings June 1st - July4th OR September 1st thru November.

I know we don't want to do November (we live in NY and it gets a tad too cold that time of year for us to be outdoors the whole time).  I'm leaning towards September (preferably early part of the month) but I'm looking for suggestions on which month would be best for weather,  Taking rain, temperature, and just overall "feel", would you recommend June, September, or October?

I live in Boston so I'm thinking about our weather.. September is great because of the leaves starting to change colors.  June can be very humid.

This is actually my second marriage.  My first wedding we got married in June and it rained most of the month with a mini hurricaine on my wedding day (that should've told me something right there, haha!).  June is a very humid, wet month in New York so I agree with you.  I think we'll be staying away from June. 

I guess we're down to September and October.  Both are beautiful with the fall colors but I'm thinking September might be a little warmer still...it might be better for being outdoors...

If you really are interested in the fall colors (which I don't blame you at all!), I would pick October.  I live in northern Ohio and we chose 10/10/09 as our date.  We hoped for some changing colors, but in all of our photos everything is pretty green!  I realize that you're a little more north, but not that much.  I wouldn't expect September to be nearly as pretty as October.

I would be looking at the 1st or 2nd weekend in October if it were me. (...and I guess that's what we did!)

I would pick mid september to early october. If it going to be a barn than if you do it september/october ish you can do a whole fun harvest theme and still have it be warm enough and possibly have the orangey yellow leaves.

I live in Northern Michigan, which can be very similar weather to New York and I agree that late september, early october is better for fall color, but you're right, it'll be warmer in early September.
