Waterfront wedding in the fall

Can somebody tell me if doing a waterfront wedding in late October is a good idea? And if anyone has done an outdoor wedding in late fall, how did you go about doing it. Did you just provide heaters all around so your guests won't freeze? Any advice would be great.

We are having our wedding on a lake in Ocotber in Wisconsin... we do have a backup location in the event of cold or rain.

Our ceremony is waterfront in mid-November, but the average temps there that time of year are low 70s.  We do have a backup plan for rain or freezing temps in the reception venue, and our venue provides heaters if it's cold.

I'm getting married on Saturday and we have an outdoor wedding planned.  The weather forecast, on the other hand, didn't seem to get the memo.  We have a back-up plan and will likely be using it.  Right now they're calling for rain and about 7 degrees celcius (44 farenheit).  BRRR!  As long as you have a back-up I'd say go for it.  We're still hoping the forecast will change so our fall colours outdoor wedding goes as planned :-)
