Barn Wedding- Who runs show?

Hi all-- I am getting married in Bucks County, PA in July 2013.   We are having a barn wedding and therefore will be doing everything very non-traditionally.  My question is, who runs the show at a wedding like this?  This is a venue that is a complete blank slate and we will be picking all of our own vendors, and doing every bit of decorating and planning, etc ourself.   Who coordinates the ceremony, who coordinates what happens when throughout the reception, who announces when cocktail hour begins and ends, when the cake cutting is, boquet throwing, and everything else is?  Are there people who do this that we hire, such as a coordinator or something? Or do we just run the show ourselves?? Very confused.. If you have had a barn wedding, or know someone who has, or have any input at all, please help!!

you can get a day of coordinator.  give them a schedule and what/who goes where and they make sure happens

Hello, you can hire someone to do all the day of planning or you can pick someone close to you to play wedding day planner. just make sure they don't have another wedding role because that seems like it would be too much.  I would not recommed trying to do it all yourself, because you will be getting made up and dressed and probably be arriving last. Either way just make sure you find someone who really knows your vision so they don't have to call you everytime something comes up. good luck!

When my daughter was married we had the minister announce after the ceremony to meet in the lobby for cocktail hour.  We had the DJ announce the arrival of the B&G, Cake cutting, toasts, etc.    You can google the order of a wedding ceremony to know what the order typically would be.  I would save $ by not using a cooordinator since you are doing everything else on your own and know what you want.
