AW: my vintage wedding band!

We bought our wedding bands this weekend, and I am so excited about what we found for my ring.  We were originally looking for diamond bands to go with my engagement ring, but so many of them either didn't work with the ring, or the ones that looked ok without overpowering the engagement ring just weren't anything special on their own.  I was all set to go with something basic but pretty, but then we found an estate ring at the shop where we were going to purchase his ring.  The diamonds go all the way around which I thought I didn't want, but it was so unique with a very old-fashioned setting (little u-shapes) that I had never seen before!

His ring is pretty cool too - it's hard to see in the picture, but it actually looks like a polished gold band wrapped around a shiny band.  He wanted something unique without being too flashy, so this was perfect!

Here's the detailed photos that they took for us in the shop:

  • Gorgeous!  I'm in NJ, right outside of Philly & have my grandma's art deco 1920's engagement ring & am having a heck of a time finding something to compliment it.  Where did you find yours?
  • erika - We went Diana Michaels in New Hope.  If it's not too far from you, check it out -- they do have some interesting and unique styles for mens' and womens' rings.

Nukke - no I didn't cry, but it really did hit me that these are the rings that we will be wearing together for the rest of our lives, and how happy/lucky I am to be marrying him!

I can't find it right now, but I did find a site a month ago that specialised in selling antique and reproduction antique wedding bands.  (the repros were made from antique molds).  I'll try to find it.  If your ring is anything like my 1920s-1930s ring, it needs a curved wedding band.  I had mine custom made by a jeweler on etsy, but if you google "curved wedding band" you can find lots of options and ideas!  When I'm home on my regular computer, I'll try to find that specific store I mentioned.
