My mom ordered a custom cake for my birthday yesterday from a local Boynton Beach shop called Cakes by Ruthie.
I was nervous as I hadn't heard about her here but let me tell you: the cake was fabulous! Tasty, affordable, and looked great! Her fondant work is amazing and her cakes are delicious!
The only bad thing I can say is that when we got there to pick up the cake, she had put my mom's name on it instead of mine! :O My mom was horrified. BUT, Ruthie was very apologetic and quickly re-did the top of the cake.. I would've never even noticed that she had to scrape off one name and add another had we not been there!
Here is the cake--it was Harry Potter inspired. The snitch, wand, and scarf were all fondant-- and were incredibly detailed! Cost: $60:
I would give her a B+. She would've gotten an A had she not made the name mistake.
