Yes - actually wedding related!
My cousin is a BM in a friend's wedding in October. She sent me a text the other day asking me what she was supposed to do about this:
Family friend is hosting the bridal shower, and the other BMs had no say in the planning. Is it reasonable to ask us to pay for it?
I immediately tell her NO! if they didn't ask you how much you could afford, and your input then it isn't your party!
They were told to pay $300, plus bring champagne, cake and glasses.
After some further suggestions (they could "offer" some money - based on their budgets and/or bring some stuff) but by no way are they required to do any of it - I also suggested they come over here to the E board to get some "feedback"
But I'm just baffled at this - I'm throwing a shower for my soon to be SIL and I'm not paying more than $300 for the whole thing! I obviously am doing it wrong.
