Dress Issues

I am having issues with the bustline of my dress and I'm starting to freak out. 
I am going to a new seamstress today and I am hoping she can fix it!  
Basically it wont lay flat on my chest and sticks out a few inches...a lady who I know tried to fix it, but couldn't....she is going to be adding bling to it and buttons on the back and is really good at that kind of stuff...but not so expeirenced with alterations.
I am really hoping somoene can do something, I didn't realize it was going to be such an issue!

    Oh boy!  If you can find someone who actually makes formal wear, that may be a better way to go.  I used to sew (made everything from tops, pants and suits) but always found someone else to make my formal dresses.

    I found a lady who makes dresses/costumes/etc.  
    I went in, she pinned it in several places and it already looked great just with her pinning!  I felt so relieved...she is going to hem it too...so yay!  :)

    I am having the same issue with my dress and it turns out that it is going to require major alternations to get it fit snuggly.  It's a strapless and of course I don't want to be tugging on it.  My alterations person is having to take it in on both sides and the back and then will have reapply the hand sewn lace.  I am hoping that is enough and am nervous about it as well.  It would have been nice if our sales person indicated to us that this is not an easy fix, if fixable at all!  I recommend you go to a bridal specialist and see what they recommend.  Good luck!

    Had another fitting today and it is almost perfect...she has to take it in a bit more at the bust and up in the length, but it is getting there!  It was so nice to see it fitting me better, made me super excited!  
    Next step is to add the buttons and the bling.  :)

    I feel tor you.
    I found my perfect dress which is strapless, however It won't fit me.
    I am a size 12 and do not have a large bust. No matter how we tried it it just stuck out and looked ridiculous. so my dream  dress went out the window and I started looking for an empire waist with straps... I found it at my least favorite store ever. I ordered it a few weeks ago as I refuse to go to this chain store, but I have a wonderful seamstress who is a very good friend. I had my first fitting yesterday and I will tell you it fits perfect, I fell in love with it when it arrived and evern more when I put it on. it just needs a little taken in but the bust fits perfectly!

    I don't know what kind of neckline you have but you might want to possibly think about adding straps and a more seemless and flat kind...
