Ceremony and reception venue

I'm getting desperate for help!  We live out of state and will have very limited time in Ohio to visit places and make decisions so I'm looking for any help I can get.  I LOVED Hillbrook, but sadly it is way beyond our budget. I am trying to find something as close to what Hillbrook looks like as possible, both for the ceremony and reception. Planning to get married Oct 2012 so beautiful grounds is important for pictures.  Want an outdoor ceremony with reception venue at the same place. Roughly 100-125 people. We will be paying for everything so budget is extremely tight-I want to get the most for my money as possible, but I don't want it to be cheap looking. THANK YOU!

Orchard HIlls party center at Patterson Fruit Farm is budget friendly, and on beautiful grounds. The reception space is rustic. You can use their preferred caterers or bring your own. www.pattersonfarm.com/html/orchard_hills_center.html

There is also Sun Valley Party Center in Auburn/Bainbridge.  great outdoor photo-ops.  http://www.sunvalleypartycenter.com/

What have you looked at and what locations are you willing to look at (travel distance, etc.)  - any places you have looked into that are “out”?   I would suggest a few locations that are More south in  Medina/Wooster/South that could be more budget friendly than a number of locations closer to the major cities.  But it really depends on location you are looking for  ...
    Quailcrest Farm – Wooster http://www.quailcrest.com/
low rental fee and BYOC and BYOB
Landoll’s Mohican Castle – Loudonville - http://landollsmohicancastle.com/  (Rental fee is mid-range, but the food/drink pricing is pretty affordable – however its  halfway between Cleveland/Columbus – so the furthest out!)
    Mapleside Farms/Skyview Lodge  – Brunswick - www.skyviewlodge.net/">http://www.skyviewlodge.net/
    Oaks Lakeside – Chippewa Lake  - http://www.theoakslakeside.com/functions_weddings.html
PM me if you want to see some photos from the first 2

I would second Orchard Hills.  Another option is Pine Ridge in Willoughby Hills.  Not quite as scenic but a good value for the money.  I'm not sure about prices but Mankiki, the Moreland Mansion and Glidden House are also possibilities.  You might consider a Friday night or Saturday brunch to save some $$$$.

    Agree with PP's.

Also look into Holden Arboretum.  Their rental prices were very inexpensive and you had your option of several caterers.  You have the beautiful gardens like Hillbrook and they also have their Lantern Courtyard which is a house with a wonderful courtyard that is similar in feel to Hillbrook

Manikiki is WAY overpriced for what it is (the place hasn't been updated in 30 years) and the coordinator I met with there was VERY unorganized (45 min late to our appt) and unprofessional.

I loved Mooreland Mansion.  Their gardens are beautiful but unless you have 90 or fewer guests, they will be seated in two seperate rooms.  But it was the least expensive of the locations I was able to look at due to our guest list.  If it had been a little larger I would have booked here in an instant.

Glidden House all total with rentals and everything was actually more expensive for our guest list than Hillbrook.

You could also try Lakeshore Georgian Manor (contact Taste of Excellence catering for info and a tour).

Hope you find what you are looking for!

Look into the Moreland Mansion in Kirtland/Willoughby. It is located behind LCC. It is a beautiful mansion which I believe was renovated in 2005.  They have catering on site and beautiful gardens in the back which could be used for ceremony/pictures.  We didn't use them because they only can fit 150-200 ppl max and that was too small for us.  Beautiful venue and beautiful grounds!!

i called about lakeshore georgian manor and it costs $10,000 just to set foot on the property!!  Rediculous!

My fiance and i are getting married at the clifton club in lakewood, it's absolutely beautiful, on the lake, and perfect for the size you're looking at inviting.  Jennifer the event coordinator is amazing, and the website photos don't even come close to doing it justice!!

The prices are pretty reasonable too!
