Looking for an apt. in the west burbs

Hey! I'm moving to chicago after my wedding from St. Louis, looking for apt. in the west burbs? Any suggestions thanks ladies!!

    Welcome to Chicagoland! My FI just bought a condo in Oak Park... it's a suburb just west of the city and Chicago public transportation even runs there, so all of Chicago's glory is so accessible! We love Oak Park!

    the west burbs is pretty broad. are you looking to stay closer to the city or far out (ie: plainfield, joliet, naperville...)

    HA thats a good point. Started out Lombard, Downers Grove, Wheaton, Woodbridge, now in Naperville we are ALL over the place looking! Thanks for the welcome!

    Be careful, because depending on where you move in the west burbs, the commute on I-88 can be a bear. I have a good friend who lives in Naperville (Hobson West, near Naperville Central High School), and her commute to Oakbrook Terrace (about 14 miles) usually takes 45 minutes or so in traffic. As the crow flies, these suburbs are very close together, but, because of traffic, the trip to and from work can be pretty daunting. If one of you is working in the city, proximity to a Metra Station is key, too. Good luck. I would troll Craigslist. Otherwise, another friend, Mary Beth Schultz, is a Coldwell Banker realtor and relocation specialist (her office is in downtown Naperville) and I'm sure she could find you a nice rental in the area.     We Lived in AMLI at seven bridges...which is in woodridge! Awesome property! they have properties all over the place! there website is amli.com......take a look...we would have stayed if we didn't buy!

    I have a townhouse in Shorewood I'm trying to rent out... 1600 sq ft, 2 car garage, right on a park... Shorewood is west of Joliet and south of Plainfield.... so depending on where you'll be working, it might or might not be an option.
