starting my DIY invites...

I just received my samples from cards & pockets and paper & more this week and i'm excited to say that I am starting my invites!  I debated heavily on outsourcing this project, but when it came down to it -- im a type A control freak and I just want to do it myself to be happy!

Anyway, I just ordered my pocketfold, blank invitation, card enclosures, envelopes, and RSVP envelopes from cards & pockets.  I am ordering my invitation mats from paper & more because they have the metallic crimson that I liked best.

So, all that will be left to do is to work with someone (probably inked papers on etsy) to do the printing and voila! I'll be sittin pretty!

Cards & Pockets has 20% off their entire website right now so I ended up saving $41.30 :)

You are lucky to get that discount! I never found any when I was purchasing all the supplies.  I printed mine through Office Max, but it took SEVERAL tries to get it perfect so maybe going through Michelle is better. GOOD LUCK..this was my hardest project!

I actually printed mine at home.  I messed around with the design on publisher and printed them on the paper (I too ordered everything from paperandmore.com).  I was so happy how they turned out and wasn't a huge pain in the butt!

we got our samples from cards and pockets, took one look, and realized there is no way we are going to do this ourselves.  lol

neither one of us is neat or artistic, so the thought of trying to line up the invites on the mats and the mats on the pocket folds...we just figured it would be a disaster.  best case, we'd end up with messy invites.  worst case, we'd end up resenting our invites and not being able to appreciate them.

    sigh

oh well.  i contacted inkedpapers on your recommendation and she came up with a beautiful invite for us.  i'm hoping we're going to be able to go with her!

    That's awesome LIB!!!

I also used cards and pockets and got all the pocketfolds for 25% off.
I am not crafty, but we ordered the mock up kits first and the moms helped me put them all together when the time came. It was fun and the invites were gorgeous.

I made my own belly bands and made my own monogram using stamps and ink. I had paper punches in different shapes and inked everything myself, I'll try to post pics soon!

I also make all my own escort cards as well. The fiance printed them and cut them for me, as well as all the inserts for the invites,  he was a big help with printing and cutting!!!
