Lets talk budget

Wedding date: July 6, 2013
Budget: 5,000

So far I know the venue I am using for the wedding and reception and it's 800 total.

My dress is 500
His tux: 200
My ring: 300
His Ring: 150

This is all of the things we have so far. I am looking up catering details now. What's your budget?

I set mine at $20K and now it's likely more around $35K.... like PP said it all adds up so quickly. My catering alone without alcohol is almost $15K. One thing to really consider is tipping. You need to factor that in for sure. I didn't realize how much that adds to your budget.

I am getting married in the city so that does make my bills a lot more, but that's what we wanted and with 180 guests I guess it's not too bad. haha

Yea the food can get expensive. This is why I am having buffet style and I picked a venue that allows me to bring in outside food.

We started at $6500 and creeped up to around $8000, where we will stay.  We are getting married in the city, a Saturday afternoon wedding for 65 guests.  Passed appetizers, limited open bar, iPod instead of DJ.

Our total budget is around 8500. I really don't want to spend more than 10k though! Our "high cost" items other than our rings will be photography and dinner.

We have 130 in attendance currently (including all guests and our friends in the band) for our October 2013 event:

We were hoping to stay under $12k, but it's looking to be more like $15k.  It sucks, but at least it's not getting too out of control for the amount of people that we have!  I think we will still be able to save enough in the next year to pay for it all:

Ceremony:  $700 (includes rain back up plan)
Reception:  $7k (inclueds all food family style & top shelf)
Entertainment:  $1600 (includes hotels for out of town band friends)
    Clothes:  $1500
    Photography:  $1700
    Rings:  $600
Flowers, Handmade Table Acces, etc:  Unknown

Our budget was originally 20k but we are now at about 35k. Things add up very quickly! Especially the little things that creep up on you along the way.

Look like my food is going to be 1500, I am pretty sure we have found a caterer to do the American food. My fiance is NigerianAmerican do we will have Nigeoan caterer as well. All together it shouldn't be more than 1500 to feed 160 people.

I wanted 20k, looking more like 26k.....won't know for sure until we know how many people are attending :)

I'm with KaTWAG...we had our reception/ceremony at a hotel downtown, what we owed the hotel in food/beverage alone was close to $50,000.  When we added everything up, it was close to $100,000...eek!  Our original budget was $50,000...we seemed to somehow double that pretty quickly.

Set a 30,000 budget for 200 guests Saturday in April. Reception is 14,500 flowers 2300, photo 2300, dj 1400, video 1000, dress 1800, church fees 700, and still hav. Yet to finish everything else. I am praying to stay under 33000 in the end.

Our budget is $10, 000. I plan on staying there!! We are getting married on a Friday night in a suburb.

Ceremony site-$250. We got a 25% discount for a riday wedding, and a 50% discount for using one of their reception sites.

The reception will be between $4000-$6000, depending on how many show. this includes buffet, open bar, and wedding cake. it also included non floral centerpieces.

The florist we found will be under $500.

the photographer we want will be under $900.

    DJ will be around $1000.

My ring is paid for since it was my moms. We are looking on Amazon for his, so not more that $100.

His tux will be free since we have so many in the bridal party.
My dress Im not counting. I am saving up my reimbursment $ from work to cover that.

The only thing that does worry me is tax and tips.

So, all in all not bad...
