Florist Recommendations

Hi:

I"m heading to the next step - finding a florist. I think we'll be keeping thing relatively small (no attendants - so we'll just need 1 bouquet, about 6 centerpieces and a few boutonnieres and corsages).

Any recommendations for florists that will work with a small budget for small needs? Our venue is in the city.

Thanks

I love my florist!  Kristen at Kio Kreations!  Many knotties use her, and she is open to all budgets, and has great ideas and recommendations!  I highly recommend her!

I used Kloeckner Preferred Flowers and highly recommend them - they have been around since 1934 and are on preferred vendor lists for a lot of the swankier wedding sites such as Cafe Brauer and Millenium Knickerbocker.  They do a lot of weddings in the city and were recommended to me by Blue Plate catering.

Mark Weber was able to work within my meager budget and was great to work with.  They are located near Midway airport so it's a hike to go visit but I would highly recommend them.  He has a fairly good support staff that does delivery, setup, and breakdown so I felt that I had a safety net if the florist got sick, etc.

The day of my wedding the flowers showed up on time if not earlier, the bouquet gorgeous, and when my mother's corsage fell apart (due to putting on her coat...it was a wrist corsage) the staff was on site to fix it.  Great customer service!

They also helped with the room flip (we had our ceremony and reception in the same place) and came back to break everything down and do cleanup.

You can take a look at the flowers on our photographer's blog here.

I just booked with Linda of Miller's Florist. She came to meet me in the city for our initial consultation and was SUPER affordable and threw in a lot for free. She also meets with you as many times as you need before the wedding and is very good about responding to emails (a problem I had with a previous florist).  I'm getting:
    1 Bride's bouquet (over 2 dozen flowers)
6 BM bouquets (over a dozen flowers)
    2 Mother's corsages
    3 special attendant corsages
    13 bouts
Toss bouquet, Virgin Mary flowers, Peace flowers
    15 centerpieces
    1 Escort card centerpiece
    Cake flowers
and flower petals for the cocktail hour tables
all for around $1300 including delivery and taxes (this was easily the most affordable option of all the florists I met with). The flowers I'm using are hydrangea, roses, spray roses, dahlia's, peonies, and button mums.
The website is: http://www.artmillersflorist.com/ and her email is: millersflorist1@aol.com
Tell her that Shadia referred you, HTH!

I haven't booked a florist yet, but I met with her last week.  She was completely willing to work with our small budget too!
I have a meeting with one more florist before I make a decision.

I recommend Designs by Guzzardo in Roscoe Village!

Very affordable and incredibly friendly. We are getting all of our flowers (20 centerpieces, 5 BM bouquets, 1 bride's, 9 bouts and 3 corsages for mom/ grandmas) for $1085 including all tax and delivery charges. Our flowers are hydrangeas, orchids and peonies.
