Wedding Gifts

Someone told me that you don't bring gifts to a wedding in Alabama if you previously gave the couple a shower gift?  Is this true?

    Meh...kinda depends.  I personally wouldn't EXPECT a gift from you if you already got me something at the shower.  Most of my guests only got me one gift across the whole shower-wedding-after wedding spectrum.  Close family and friends got me something for showers and the wedding itself.
