How can I find someone to perform the ceremony? I don't really have any friends who I would want to do that (all my important people are already involved) and we're not religious so we don't want a religious official doing it.

You could always hire a justice of the peace to perform the ceremony.

I never would have thought of doing that! I'll probably call the courthouse or just go there. We're not living in the same county as the one where we're getting married though, (we don't even live in the same counties!) will that be an issue? Does our marriage liscense have to be from the county where we're getting married? I clearly need to call the courthouse :O

We actually decided to have our moms jointly officiate the wedding. They got ordained through ULC. We're not religious and wanted someone to officiate that meant something to both of us. This was a way of including the moms (since the dads already were) and to make it very special to us. Getting "ordained" online is pretty painless and then they just mail their paperwork into the county. I think in all, it costs $25 a person.
