ok, is it just me or are the cost of venues seriously scary?

We are on a tiny budget  but I know I need a place to throw this shin dig. It seems like any place in my budget also requires me to use their preferred caterers and the caterers are out of my budget!

Any one have experience with this and have suggestions? I'd love to hear them!

    Are you talking about a place for the ceremony or reception? There are many parks in Boise you can get married in. We are having our ceremony at the Julia Davis Rose Garden which is only $85 to reserve. Also, we are having our reception at the stonehouse- you do have to use thier caterer (The Ram) but they have some choices that cost less, and they will let you use the lunch menu at dinner time as well which saves money. It is only $200 to reserve the Stonehouse, and that includes all of the tables and chairs and dishes and everything, and I think the food that we chose is around $11 per person.
