Does anyone out there know how to go about obtaining an officiant for a non-religious wedding? We are thinking of using a justice of the peace, but I have no idea how to go about hiring one. Do I contact the courthouse? And, does the justice of the peace have to be from the county you are getting married in? I've tried to do some looking on the Story County webpage but I haven't had much luck. If anyone has any ideas I'd be greatful! Thanks!

    no for iowa there is one listed her on theknot.com. or you can google it and it will list tons of them.... mine just so happens to be my FI's friend so if you would like me to get ahold of him i can just let me know

    I also have a good friend who does weddings all the time.  If you search in google her name is Amy Campbell and she is out of Carroll.
