Need officiant!

Hi, fellow brides! I am getting married in Des Moines but am not from the area. We are not getting married in a church so I need to find an officiant but I am lost as to how I should go about finding one. Any suggestions or recommendations?? Appreciate any help!

Do you have any friends that would be good at officiating a wedding?  If you and your families are okay with that, it's not too hard to get ordained online.  If you'd like someone a little more "official" a good place to start is through a church you're affiliated and see if they'll do a wedding outside of their church (as in, I'm Methodist and am a member of a church in my hometown, so I might go to some Methodist churches in the DSM area and ask if anyone would be willing to officiate).  Another good resource is the people in charge of your venue or your other vendors.  People in the wedding business do a lot of networking, so I'm sure if you ask around you could find some names.  Good luck!
