New Topic: Favors and Escort Cards!

Post the little guys here... mostly because we are stuck on these topics for our own wedding, and so I'm being selfish today and the overall topic will benefit me. Lol.

The idea we had (and I'm stuck on) was to take pictures from when we were little with said guest and use them. Take a picture of me and Aunt, cut it down to a 3x4(ish) size, put it on magnetic backing. It would double as the escort card and favor - win win. But we don't think FI has enough pictures from when he was little to do this with his side of the family (lame).

So... today's topic... inspire me ladies!

I am skipping favors, but we are having a photo booth and guests can take pics home, so I guess those would count as favors.

Our escort cards are actually sort of a favor. We are putting the guest's name and table number inside of a photo coaster. We are also having a candy bar so that counts too!

For favors we're doing chocolates from a local chocolate shop. Trying to do snowflakes, but might have to go with the basic candy bars since itll be easier and more chocolate.
And for our place cards, this is my inspiration:

Since our menus is pre-selected on the RSVP's, we're doing navy blue snowflakes for beef, silver for chicken and white for vegetarian.

Our favors are a bag of:
-a La Colombe filter bag (a coffee bag you can use in french press, filter, or handpours, yummy!)
-2 English Breakfast Madura tea bags (a tea from Australia, that we loved when we lived there!)
-2 amaretti cookies from a local bakery (yummy!)

For escort cards, I'll probably just print really simple, formal ones.

No escort cards as we're not having a meal, but our favors are going to be a CD with an old timey radio broadcast of our favorite movie which is also very subtly the theme for our wedding

Since we have such a large guest list.. we had to go with something inexpensive. We're doing hot chocolate favors using icing bags! With marshmallows, of course. They come out to about .13 per favor. Win!

No favors for us and the escort cards aren't done up yet so I've got nothing their either :(

Favors- sweet n salty bar (candy, peanuts and pretzels), some clear plastic (nice baggies) and a note that says "thank you for sharing our speical day!"

No escort cards, since we are doing a buffet- but we are doing a seating chart so I saw a really neat idea that I want to use.  Buying a large mirror and will write everyone's names on it with a colored Sharpie...prob a color from our theme..
Tables will be named, not numbers...just trying to think if I should use Disney princess names or Disney movies as the names..

We're not doing favors - we may decide to put out some sort of candy bar as it gets closer to the wedding date, but as of now, it's one less thing to worry about!

We have this bird theme going, so for escort cards I'm going to cut birds out of this old bird encyclopedia I found at a flea market, adhere them to the cards and do the name/table no. calligraphy. Going to art school pays off, sometimes. Tongue Out

@ abbie - I love birds.  I have them on my wedding shoes even! That sounds beautiful.

    @ Joanna - I love the tree idea :)

We don't have escort cards - no assigned seating.
Favors will be hankies for our second-line parade from ceremony to reception (traditionally white hankies are twirled in the air), mardi gras beads, and the photobooth.

@abbie - little trees are in the running for our favors too! or maybe personalized coffee mugs filled with either coffee or tea, depending on the person.

I'm still pretty sold on my magnetic picture idea... just need to sit down with FI and go through his old family pictures..
