Experiences at Bearpath?

We have narrowed the venue down to 2 choices and Bearpath is one of them. I've read the reviews and most are very generic.  Does anyone have any specific experiences (both positive and negative) with Bearpath that they can share?  We are planning on having the ceremony and reception there and anticipate around 175 guests.  Thanks!

  • It's definitely a beautiful place. My friend's parents live there so I've been to the clubhouse a few times :-)

I originally looked there as a potential venue, but noticed a lot of added fees. Also, I believe you have to have a 'family' from there sponsor you if you don't already live in Bearpath.

They may have had the requirement of a sponsor family in the past, but they don't anymore.  You are right, there are additional fees for every little thing, but the food/bev minimum is so low that we are still coming up cheaper than the other ones we looked at.
  • I'm glad they changed that family sponsor requirement, that would've been a pain :-)

I've never actually been to an event there, but the regular food they serve in the clubhouse and by the pool's pretty good.

  • We are actually getting married there this coming October.  There are things that we LOVE about the place:  the outside space for the ceremony, having the reception right at the same place, no extra travel for guests.  It's all on one level, great for elderly folks.  Those things sold us on it along with the staff.  Working with Kim and Katie couldn't be any better!  Kim is so willing to work with you and help with everything.  Very eager to please and get back to you right away.  The food is great too.  We are doing butler passed apps cheaper than trays! They do have added expenses but that's wedding planning.  They also have great spaces to get ready the day of.  Hope this helps!
