Thanks for sharing that! My mom's been pretty worried about this. I'm not sure what our plan is.. if my parents don't get a hotel room I might see if they'd mind taking everything back with them so it's either in their house or the garage. This definitely makes me think more about it! Hope this doesn't happen again!

ETA: I do have to say though that I'm glad it wasn't a staff member. Though I suppose it could have been, it sounds like it was someone from the outside.

  • I absolutely 100% think that what happened to them is the epitome of crappy.  However, what the heck were they doing parking their car in the open with valuables in it?!  They didn't deserve what happened to them and it is a huge bummer, but police tell you not to leave your GPS mount and charging cables out, let alone your wedding gifts.

I agree with this.  Maybe they were followed from the PEC, but regardless, they should have brought the gifts into the hotel rooms.  I'm sure they realize this in hindsight.  It sucks a lot for them, and I feel terrible for them.  But like they said, let this be a warning to future brides.  Take the time to bring your gifts inside somewhere safe.

  • That does suck but I agree Witty. We took all the cards right away and opened them before we went to bed, and secured the checks/cash in my purse asap. The gifts were taken home that night instead of kept in a car. It is terrible that people are so shitty out there though.

  • We plan on having either set of parents or a couple WP members bring gifts back to our place since it's just 5 minutes away from our venue.

So incredibly unfortunate though, keep hearing these kind of stories and it's making me think!
