Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Looking for indoor/ outdoor reception

My fiance and I are having our reception in august of 2013.  We would like to have an outdoor / indoor reception so that we can have the dance floor and food inside, and mingle outside. Ideal location would be Minneapolis or surrounding suburbs.  If possible, we are looking for a place that would allow us to have our own caterer instead of choosing from their approved list of caterers -we would like to order pizza :-)

Thanks for any advice you have to offer!
Heidi

  • How big is your guest list? That'll determine what we recommend :-)

  • Check out The Knot local ceremony and reception vendors - you can sort by outdoor/indoor space!
    Good luck!

Not exactly sure yet, but around 200.
  • When did you want your wedding to be?? We are getting married at Hope Glen Farm. Check them out they are fabulous! It is a newer venue. They only have a very few dates left for 2013, but you can bring your own food/drink etc! Let me know if you decide to go with them so I can refer you :) They provide table and chairs as well!

  • I'd look at city/state parks or community centers, most of the time they let you bring in your own vendors. Eagan Community Center & Millennium Garden at Plymouth Civic Center would be worth looking into.

  • My Fiance and I would like to have a casual barn dance venue for our reception.  We need to be able to bring in our own caterers instead of picking from a "prefered vendor" list.  Our reception is going to be the end of August 2013.  Guest list is approximately 200.  We would like to find somewhere that's no more than an hour from the twin cities. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Try Unique Dining Experiences, very accomodating and they will also relieve a lot of your stress by taking care of anything and everything. All you have to do is say, "I do". Talk to Jeff at (763)370-5744. Tell him Linda sent you.
  • Solera is reasonable and has indoor/outdoor space
  • Eagan Community Center has outdoor space but I believe you have to use their caterers.  I think your best bet would be a farm or something of the sort.
