Does county matter?

We are getting married in downtown KC but live about an hour from KC in a different county.  Can we get our marriage license from our local county or do we have to get it from the county our venue is in?

  • County doesn't matter, but state does.  You can get your license in any county and use it anywhere in the state within 30 days.
