NWR: Apartments North/South KC

Ok so we're going to start looking for an apartment to move into, and I'm wanting to save time by looiking online first.  I'm not from KC, so I don't know the area.  We're wanting to get a 1 bedroom under $650 if possible.

We're thinking maybe westport, plaza or shawnee area.  We're wanting something not too far from a grocery store and restaurants.  We have 2 dogs, so we would like somewhere safe enough that I can walk the dogs and feel safe.

Any recommendations of apartments to look at would be great.  Thanks for your help!

I don't know of any apartments in that specific area (we're looking more in the Olathe/Lenexa/OP area since that's where work & family are) but I did a quick search on ForRent (dot) com. I put in "Shawnee, KS", 1 bedroom, max of $650 and got these results:

Thanks!  Ya I've looked on for rent, but then when I drove by they looked shady.  I was just trying to save my time from driving out there to see places if people knew of better places.  I've never used apartmentreviews, so I'll check out that website.  Thanks so much!

I used to live in Stoneridge Apartments in Mission, KS and they were really nice, and right in your price range. We considered moving to the Westport area, but the apartments/neighborhoods around there are a little shady, IMO. And the Plaza is pretty expensive. I did most of my apartment searches on http://www.kcpremierapts.com/.
