Hi all!

Life's been super busy for me this week.  Found out on Monday I'll be filling in for at least six weeks for a first grade teacher in my old school district, starting the first day of school.  I met my future first graders yesterday; they were so cute!  The teacher I'm replacing's super nice and SUPER organized, too, which helps!

All of our kitchen appliances were delivered and they'll actually be installed between today and tomorrow.  The floor should be done today and also little things like the new bathroom faucet and showerhead.  I'll take pictures and post ASAP; we're hopefully moving in tonight, though, and we won't have internet or cable since someone (coughFIcough) has yet to call the cable company.

What have y'all been up to?  Any fun plans?

TGIF!!!! Erbear, Congrats about the house, and work wise!
FI and I finally have a somewhat relaxing weekend. If its nice on Sunday we may be going to the beach in Rhode Island, but I'm a little "eh" with that because its a Sunday and traffic on 95 coming home will be horrible, and who wants to do that before a work day.
 
For wedding stuff, I will be finishing the STDs this weekend, and putting them in the mail  Tuesday or Wednesday! Yay!!! FI finally made our escort card holder, with help of a good friend who is also a groomsman and is a handy carpenter. It is made out of recycled wood. I originally was going to buy one off of etsy, but starting researching DIY wood escort card holders, and found out we can do it ourselves. It saved us over $100. I LOVE it! I have been working on a lot of my DIY projects and will post pics this weekend with some of what I have completed. I also convinced FI to meet with a videographer. We both have been going back and fourth on this, just because we are on a budget and videography was one thing we didn't really budget money for. Everyone keeps telling me that we won't regret getting one. So I did research and found someone who has also filmed where we are getting married. His lowest package is $1000, and he also says he is willing to work with budgets, so I am working with him to set up a date to meet.

Christine, I just sent my STDs off to our invitation person today so I am hoping to get the proof ASAP and print and send out.  I still need to collect some addresses and finish our wedding website as well.  

I have been doing a lot of DIY wedding stuff lately, finishing pomador flower balls for the church and working on our table numbers (3 of 16 done!).  Last weekend I had a unfortunate run in with the glue gun but I am all healed and ready to get back at it this weekend.  FI should be working on finishing our deck this weekend and we are going to ribfest tonight with friends!!

Christine- post a pic of your holder! I have to make one too. I was thinking of just getting foam board, covering it with fabric and using ribbon to hold my little cards.

This weekend- well, my FI has been out of town for work and is coming home tonight, so mainly am just going to spend time with him! I have some friends from out of town coming over for dinner tomorrow night as well. Other than that, just errands, chores... fun stuff

As for me, The first half of the week was full of work, and the last half has been last minute cramming to finish things for my friend's bridal shower on Sunday.  Grabbed decorations and stuff yesterday but I'm at a bit of a dilemma because of the 32 invites that were sent out, only about 6 have RSVPed in some fashion.  So we could have six, we could have 28.  Obviously I'm planning for the 28 but I have this dread feeling there's going to be a lot of leftover cake and cookies.

And I spent my spare time trying to fit in some video games.  Diablo 3 got patched and it's kind of fun again, so been playing some of that.

I really need to get back to work on MY wedding.  I will say, I made a small felt flower bouquet for decoration for this shower, it turned out nice but I think it also told me that if I want felt flowers at my wedding I'll probably pay someone else to do them.  Not hard, just insanely time consuming.  (Of course, I overdecorated some of the flowers, forgetting that another flower is going to be on top and I won't even be able to see most of the decoration except at the very edges.  Lesson learned if I do any more myself).

I am thankful it is Friday.

I was part of a Flash Mob yesterday and it was the best time I have had in awhile! But I am exhausted today and all I want to do is go home and watch Hunger Games lol.

Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, so I'd like to go to the beach. I won't hold my breath though. Sunday is my brother's birthday so hopefully we will grill.

I was woken up with a panicked phone call from my mom making sure we weren't dead, FI and I don't live/ work anywhere near the Empire State Building so that was super fun*. FI just got back from a business trip yesterday so I can have conversations with someone other than the dog once he is home long enough to sleep off the jetlag. I have to see if I can return some wedding craft supplies I ordered but it might cost more to ship back than the item cost so that's kind of a bummer. Our friend who is officiating for us is coming by so we might make some progress on the ceremony. 

In happy news my 2 best girl friends academic lives have changed in positive ways that make it so they can be in the wedding. So yay for maid of honor and bridesmaid.

In wow you have huge balls news, the guy friend who declared his love for me when I asked him to be in the wedding, still wants to be in the wedding despite his "reservations about FI and my relationship". I haven't responded because I can't think of anything polite or tactful to say yet. 

*Yes, this might seem ok but I get a panicked phone call anytime any crime in anywhere NYC or the surrounding area ends up on the news. It's really really excessive.

Well, I'm out here floating around offshore of Hawaii and I'm supposed to be here until Tuesday and then fly back to Tampa but I was able to bump up my flight to tomorrow to try to beat TS Isaac there.  Once I get there, I will bail my dog out of doggie daycare.  FI had to drop her off there and then go fly one of the planes to GA to get it out of the storm's path but with the latest models, he might just end up moving it again.

Hopefully he will make it back by Wednesday night so we can fly to NC on Thursday.  We have a few WR meetings: baker, caterer, florist and his parents are coming down to meet my parents and see the venue(my parents' rental house) so it'd be really nice if everything went according to plan and we didn't have to reschedule due to weather.  Here's hoping!

I should pick up my dress on Wednesday depending on the storm but I might try to bump that up to Monday just in case :-)

Happy weekend everyone and think about me on that 9 1/2 hr redeye from Honolulu to Atlanta tomorrow night, haha.

We went to the state fair and Blake Shelton concert tonight and tomorrow we have a get together with a bunch of FIs family.

Hi all! I know it's Sunday now but I'll participate. All our STDs went out and we've been getting rave reviews, everyone's so excited. Today after church we met with the pianist who will play the songs for the ceremony. She was trying to convince me to do some other song but I am very stuck on here comes the bride. Our wedding party will come out to canon in d. I got so choked up standing at the beginning of the aisle and hearing the loud beginning of here comes the bride. FMIL was with me and teared up as well. Today is 8 months til the wedding and it'll fly by I know it! It feels like yesterday it was 9 months away. I'm sure some months will go by faster than others. I start classes again Sept 4th and fall semester will help speed up the process. I am so excited for all us April brides!!

We are thinking Wexford area of Pittsburgh..my sister lives in Squirrel Hill area so its not toooo far from family
