NO Towering Table centerpieces!

We have all seen lovely centerpieces, and I love them, but my FI brought up a good point- "Don't make them so Damn big you can't see across the F'n Table! I hate not seeing those across from me because of a F'n bucket of flowers!"
So, any ideas on some beautiful, low centerpieces that you have seen?

    I would talk to your florist. That was also a key issue for me - I hate it when the centerpieces block your view - it's really awkward and you cannot really see the centerpiece then once you are seated. We are doing floral arrangements - a mix of hydrangeas and other flowers, but in low vases with a circle of votives around.

    I like her Idea, and depending on the time of year, Camellias may be a good option. There are a lot of colors and varieties, and pick one to go with your colors!

    I have to agree with the FI on this one, I like eye contact, and just to see those I am around.  Also, we are there to celebrate the event with people, not to celebrate the decorations.
