Ceremony programs

I am having a very short non religious ceremony. Is it necessary to have programs and if so, what should be on it? I'm on a tight budget so I'd like to do it myself if I should have it. Any suggestions?

    It might just be nice to have. It helps in introduce family, wedding party, and guests to each other. In addition, you could have a quick rundown of the ceremony guide guests in knowing what to expect and any information pertaining to the reception you may want to convey. I did mine myself. I just found nice paper in my two wedding colors and printed them at home and folded in brochure format. Good luck.
