Permit for St Louis Cathedral pics?

I heard that you have to have a permit to have engagement pics done in front of St Louis Cathedral.  Has anyone heard of this? How do I obtain one?

    Just in Jackson Square....not necessarily in front of the Cathedral.

    And they do check, so make sure that you get the permit.  We were asked by 2 different people what my name was to make sure I had a permit.

    No!  Super easy, just call Miss Rosalyn at Parks and Parkways.  The only potential conflict (and let me give you the spoiler alert here: I got married in Jackson Square Park) is that they will not allow you to take your pics while a wedding is going on inside the Square.  Which, as a JSQ bride, I was really grateful for. Lol- I am was laid back, but can you imagine another bride coming into the Square in a wedding dress as we said our vows?!  So would have been a Bride Wars-tackling moment!

    Obviously Saturdays have one or two weddings- but they can squeeze you in between/after weddings.  Miss Roalsyn is super nice and will help you out!
