I met with an OB today and we discussed birth control options, I can't take any estrogen, which knocks out any type pill, patch or 'ring'. That basically leaves me with the Depo shot, IUD or an implant - like Implanon- a little matchstick-sized plastic rod that gets inserted just under the skin of the under arm - it can last up to three years, or you can have it removed anytime. I really don't want the shot, and actually putting something inside of my uterus freaks me out, so this arm implant sounds like a viable option.
I know there are risks with any birth control, but I actually am looking into this for health reasons other that preventing pregnancy (I need to go other meds which you CANNOT get pregnant while taking).
So, I'm looking for anyone's thoughts on Implanon if anyone has it or has tried it. Or if you know of any other progesterone only options, that'd be good too
