DJ Cost??

Can anyone tell me what kind of price range I can expect for a DJ? I would like to keep the cost around $1000, maybe a little more...just wanting to know if this is a realistic number or if I should budget a little more...

I have received several quotes in the $700-800 range for 4 hours.

When I booked mine, we had a 3 hour reception with a really cool light show and uplighting and it was right under $1000. The lights were a total difference maker...

We were going to do both a dj and a band and I got a couple of quotes ranging from $550-$800 so we decided to get a band and use our ipod instead
