Church?!

Hi Fellow St Louis Brides!

Although I'm not officially engaged yet we are beginning to plan a wedding. The problem is that neither one of us is from St Louis, but it is the halfway point for both families and it holds special meaning for us.

We found our reception venue (the old post office), but we cannot find a church to save our lives. We are both really religious and it is important for us to get married in a church, but we are not catholic and all the churches I can find are catholic. I have looked at different chapels but I would prefer not to get married in a chapel unless I absolutely have to.

Does anyone know of any good non-catholic churches in the St Louis area (the closer to Olive street the better) that allow people who are not members to get married there?!

I don't know how far away from the old post office it is, but I know Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood  will let nonmembers get married there.

I'm a member of Concordia-Kirkwood, and we actually had one of my pastors come to the venue (9th Street Abbey) and perform the service.  Still meaningful and infused with faith, but with the benefit of one location for our guests.  I really wanted everything in one place.  And Pastor (Jerry) Hays did a wonderful job!  It was perfect.  If you choose to go this route, plan on attending their Pre-Cana workshop.  And I know non-members have been married there, but it certainly helps if you're Lutheran

Try the Christ Church Cathedral. It's downtown and it's beautiful. It's an Episcopal church, but they let other religions get married there too.
