Engagement picture location ideas

Hey everyone!

My fiance and I want to do our engagement pictures in Northville, but I just found out that Mill Race Village requires a permit. Does anyone have any suggestions for cool (outdoor) locations in Northville we could use as a substitute?

We had our wedding at Greenmead Village in Livonia (corner of 8 Mile & Newburgh rds). It's a city park, and open to the public from sunrise to sunset. Free. They have really cool older buildings, but wouldn't work for a more modern look.
