Happy Halloween!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

We didn't really end up doing anything too festive this year, which is what I thought would happen.  We carved our pumpkins last night, and then we both had to work today.  We went out to dinner and I've basically just been watching Halloween-type movies/TV shows all weekend, which has actually been pretty enjoyable.  Apparently there is some zombie show on tonight that FI really wants to watch called Walking Dead.  I generally like zombie movies so hopefully this show turns out to be good.

Anything funny/interesting/boring to share?

We had lots of trick or treaters, not to be negative or sound like an old lady but I was really surprised how few of the kids said thank you!

Our 4 yr old said "Trick or Treat" and then "Thank you, Happy Halloween" and she was told more times than I could count that she was very polite and one of the few who said "thank you" --- DH and I were shocked. Kids honestly no longer say Thank you?? The 2 yr old was able to say "Trick or treat" and "ank you" --- which was supper cute (if I do say so myself).

Anyone else have a bunch of older kids NOT dressed up? After the 3rd group of kids that came up without a costume my FI got a bit upset and finally said, no costume, no candy.....

This has always been my philosophy.  If you are old enough to have a part time job to pay for candy, you are too old to be trick or treating.  And besides, shouldn't you be a at a party or something?

Anyway, we didn't do anything festive.  We were going to go out with friends yesterday but we were exhausted after the Engaged Seminar all day (had to get up at 6 am!) that we didn't feel up to it.  We did, however, dress up the cat for about 5 minutes.  She was running around the apartment backwards trying to get it off of her.  She kept bumping her butt into things and the attendae kept wiggling around which made her really look like an alien!  She eventually just layed down and made some pathetic wimpering sounds and we decided to take it off of her :)

She has since forgiven us though.

We didn't do anything yestearday except hand out candy.  Fi watched that new show The walking Dead too.  He is a comic book nut and it is based off of a comic book series.

We did go to a halloween party on saturday.

LOL at Liz!!  We dressed up Jackson as a devil, which is funny cause our nickname for him is Devil.  His reaction was about the same as your cat.

FI never gets more than a few kids at his house, so, I only bought 1 bag of candy. We had soooo many trick-or-treaters this year! I ran out about 15 minutes into it. We turned off the light and shut the door and still had kids coming to the door for candy. It was cute the first few times, but got annoying. I thought the rule was "porch light on = candy".

Julie - Jackson looks like he was handling it relatively well :)  Although it also looks like there was some type of treat involved in the second picture.

The sad thing is that I was always "I am never going to be that pet owner."  But Todd beat me down and I have to admit it was one of the funniest things watching Bella yesterday.  Ugh. I hate to admit when I'm wrong.
