Signing off..... And need some photo suggestions!

Well ladies, it's hard to believe it been just over a year since I've been on here and planning the wedding. IT'S TOMORROW!! I have been so incredibly busy the last two months, it's crazy. I enjoyed and appreciated all the advice from everyone. W lea Sunday morning for our honeymoon, but I will sure to send pictures and reviews when I return! Now, it's supposed to be cold and rainy tomorrow (mother nature is a bitch). We are getting married down river area. Does anyone have any suggestions for indoor locations?

  • Are there any gazebos or anything that are covered that you could use?

    GOOD LUCK and Congratulations!

  • There was an 80% chance of rain -- all day -- on my wedding day. It rained all morning, but cleared up around 2 or so, and we had great weather. So, you really do never know!

As for indoor locations, perhaps a bar/restaurant in downtown Wyandotte? Thinking of places like Lions, Tigers and Beers or fun spots like that that have a little character.

  • As I sit here and obsess over this. I am thinking that maybe we can head up to Detroit. It's 20 minutes away. So 40 minutes picture taking time would be gone, but we can do the casinos, the main library, the Whitney, etc..... I wonder if that's a better choice. Wiring to hear back from my photographer. But he wanted to do Detroit originally, and I said no. Lol

  • If you do Detroit, I have lots of suggestions.

I don't know if I'd do the Whitney, they may not be open yet and may also give you a hard time compared to other dining establishments.

On my "indoor" list for wedding pictures:
    - The People Mover (make sure there are no big downtown events...we got stuck with a Nickelback concert and it made it difficult). Even if you can't do any on the train itself, we had fun doing some on the platform of one of the stations, and it's covered.
    - The Guardian Building
    - Casinos are great
    - Park Bar (on the corner of Park & Elizabeth). Lots of natural light/windows.
    - Ren Cen could be a cool spot depending on your photographer's style
    - Westin Book Caddy Hotel. Not sure if you'll have trouble here or not. I know my photog has shot other weddings there, and it was on our list but we didn't do it since we had good weather.

  • Hope you have an amazing day and the weather cooperates. I have no suggestions on indoor places downriver, but check into libraries or city halls/city government buildings.

For cool interiors in Detroit, where no one will make you leave, I'd recommend the Town Pump bar behind Hockeytown (looks like an old library/pub), as well as Hockeytown itself, and the Centaur Bar (across the street from the Town Pump). They all have cool interiors, are not "public buildings" like libraries, etc, and would probably love to have their interiors in your shots. You could park in one spot and get 3 different interiors.
  • Good luck and have fun!  I hope the weather works out in your favor.

I can't wait until you come back and tell us all about it.
