DJ Question

Happy holidays!!! I have a question about a DJ.....

Has anyone heard of this DJ, do you know someone who's used them? I found this DJ online http://www.jandtdjentertainment.com/events.html

He said he would dj my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception (a total of 6 hours) for a total of $750. He said he has lighting too. Should I jump on this deal? I don't know what to do! I don't want my wedding to be a dud because of a cheesy DJ, or one that doesn't know how to work the crowd.

Everywhere else I see, is charging $1500+.

if you are worried, ask for references.

My dj cost 1000.  There was a female dj i met at a few bridal shows that charged 800 for a ton of stuff and she seemed nice but i ended up clicking with our guy more.

He was $1200 when we were looking, but we won a $200 off (or free photo slide show) at  a bridal show, so he cost us $1000 as well. He also did music for cocktail hour and gave us lighting.

Anything in the $1000 - $1500 range is perfectly "normal" pricing. Above that, I'd wonder what your getting for your money. Much below, I'd wonder how familiar they are with weddings.

(Your person may be very good, but he is offering a really low price in comparison to what else is out there. Really low. It's a great deal, but I totally understand why your concerned. Is your wedding at off peak time or day? That could explain the great deal.)

yes, terri and i had the same dj....he was great.  He really worked well with us to make sure it was the music we liked...people were even dancing during dinner!!!  We had one little mishap with the intros but I believe that was as much my fault as his and honestly, i never knew about it until people told me.  I suggest at least checking him out!

But certainly, you should do some more research into your guy.  You never know the gems you can find!
