Hi there! I'm new but been engaged for a while. Haven't done the message board thing in a long time but as I come to the final month and a half of my planning I thought i'd check out the forums. My name is Michelle, my date is June 16th and i'm not sure what else i'm supposed to write! Hope I can contribute some helpful info for future brides :)

    Awesome! Welcome! I dont know how you planned your wedding without coming on the boards! I feel like I have been on here a few times a week reading reviews, asking questions, listening to other stories! I would be lost with The Knot! Where are you getting married?? Do you have anything else to do? I am getting married on September 22nd! I cant wait!

    Hey thanks! I don't know how I did it either, my Mom got a bit more invoved than I originally anticipated so I guess that has a lot to do with it lol. We're getting married at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens on June 16. The ceremony and reception will both be held there although I got a bit of backlash from the family about it (we're Roman Catholic) and as far as what still needs to be done we need: most of the paper stuff like programs, menu's, escort cards, signs for the backs of the chairs for the ceremony for grandparents and parents, we don't have a send off, guest book, card box, we need to book valet partking, finalize our ceremony, get decorations for the house for the day of, finish up our hotel bags for guests staying at a hotel, we're making table numbers with swarovski crystals and those need to be finished, i have to schedule a walk through with my florist, coordinator and garden coordinator, we have to find an after party spot. it's crazy town in my house right now. The invitations just went out yesterday (way late!) I'm sitting here now trying to figure out what all the paper and signs should look like so i can give them to a friend who just started her own custom stationary type of business because I just can't do it myself. 

    Sept 22 is a great day!! it's my dad's birthday and it's always beautiful every year! :) How are you doing? Where are you in your planning? Where are you getting married?

    I also just realized this is a Hudson Valley board but i'm getting married in Brooklyn. Regardless of that, I live up here in Westchester and can hopefully be some help!

    Thank you! I am excited, it is also the first day of fall! And for some reason, I always remembered the first day of fall being beautiful weather! I hope I have the same luck this year! I am getting married at The Old Tappan Manor which is in Old Tappan NJ. I have never been to a wedding there but I have heard amazing things. I still have some left to do, invitations, flowers, limos, flower girl dresses, and then it comes down to all the details, menus, programs, seating charts, candy bar etc...I am excited! I have 5 months left! 

    Brooklyn is beautiful! I am sure it will be amazing! Where are you going on your honeymoon?  Thats great that you had your Mom help out. My Mom has been amazing as well, but she is a little more traditional than I am, so sometimes our views differ.

    Do you have anyone to recommend for calligraphy for the invitations? (If that is something that you had done?)
