Oh! And one of the guys in the office (well, lots of guys in the office) brings in his dog, Kiko, and she is the sweetest pit bull/boxer mix in the world and she LARVES me. He is not allowed to go straight to his desk in the morning because she will literally drag him to my desk first for morning loves and pets. Hee! It always makes me feel good when she comes over to say hello to me.

I wish people could bring their pets to the office.  I love dogs, but my schedule is too unpredictable for one.

I would totally take a pic of Kiko but I have no idea how to get the pics off my phone and into the computer without the usb cable I have at home. :( Techno fail.

Yup, a 3d model of a balloon hat for a character in our game. Some days I actually don't hate my job.

  • A coworker of mine and I were just talking about how crappy we were feeling. I think it's because it was very dreary this morning and Chicago has had sunny weather for the past 40 days. Hope ya feel better, Nugget.
And the whole time, my future husband was in the room...... image image
  • Aw, Nuggs.  FWIW, LC's picture is so pretty I think it makes a lot of people feel like warty trolls.

I'm supposed to be eating fresh fruit.  FRESH FRUIT, PEOPLE.  I have a little tuppereware sitting on my desk that is just full of fresh, yummy fruit.

But then some folks are kicking off our office charity drive by offering a fucking BUFFET of HOME BAKED cookies and pumpkin bread and brownies.  My fruit didn't stand a chance.  I pretty much hate myself now.

What kind of job do you have TR?  I know you've mentioned before, but I don't remember.  I'm a paralegal, and sometimes it amazes me how my boss gets anything done.  I can't wait to get out of here.

Nope, we have one woman who is our HR/Office Manager and she's more worried about not losing HER job.  One of our owners told me once (I think on my birthday or something) that I was going to be too old for him soon.  Lovely.  He's, like, 65 and his wife is 35.  I can't wait to get out of this place.

  • Oh, and how Dexter has helped my life: we were watching a crappy horror movie the other day. She'd killed her husband (in self-defense) by stabbing him several times in the chest, neck, and head. HOWEVER, the blood spatter on the wall wasn't consistent with stabbing AT ALL and I had to call her out. Well, it's helped my H to laugh at me, at least.

  • I just got the invitation in the mail for the shower my aunt is throwing me. It reads:

Lauren is registered at Frederick's of Hollywood XXX Adult Toys and Videos and The Dollar Tree.

Sexy Lingerie Shower for LC, date time, address, yadda yadda, then next to the RSVP line it says "or not."

I freaked for a second, and called my mom. Big fat joke. It brightened my day a little though. There's not a better way to utterly mortify me than making me open up underwear in front of people who have no need to see any of my underwear, on or off me.

Ugh, I'm sorry.  That really sucks.   I work for a sole practitioner, so I only have the do the crap work for one man, but it still sucks.  Plus, we moved to a home office about 6 weeks ago, so I'm working in the basement of his house.
LC that's hilarious! :) Off-topic (is there a topic in this thread?):  Can you be allergic to a specific cat or cats?  I always had cats growing up and had one of my own up until 2 years ago and never had a problem, but I've been feeding my friend's cats this week while she's away (she ran the Chicago marathon, yay!) and today I spent most of my lunch hour at her apt and was playing with them and I've been sneezing ever since I got back to work and my sinuses feel kind of cloggy.
    Posted by FutureMrsTR
I don't know about being allergic to specific types of cats, but I've developed allergies as I've gotten older. I had lots of dental work done as a kid and never had a problem with Novacaine. Then when I was 15, the dentist gave me Novacaine and my throat just about swelled shut. I aslo got poison ivy for the first time in my life a few months ago. I grew up in the woods and definitely came in contact with it numerous times as a kid and never had a problem. But now if I look at it the wrong way, I'm covered in a rash. You might have developed an allergy.

I hope you enjoyed my novel about my allergies. I know it's interesting stuff.
