Foods/Gadgets you miss

I miss cripsy M&Ms. They still produce them in other countries I guess. I am contemplating ordering some online sometime. haha.

I miss dunkaroos. And I hate that chocolate graham crackers are so hard to find.

I miss the really old school Oregon Trail.

You go.

We found dunkaroos in Gainesville when we were up there for a game, and my friends were SO EXCITED.  I miss Koala Bites.  I think that's what they were called.  Little koalas with chocolate in them?  We always used to have them at the cultural fair in elementary school.

a little late to the game, but they have the panda version of these cookies at World Market and sometimes Target!

Midge, FLOPPY DISKS. hahaha omg. There was some game that we had at my house on a floppy disk and it was so weird. I think it was like a mystery game. I have no idea but it was sweet. Did anyone else play the Sabrina the Teenage Witch CD-rom computer game? OMG I LOVED THAT GAME.

Oh.My.God. YES. With the spinny wheel and lots of other games that aren't coming back to me. All I remember is learning that hamsters don't live in the wild...

My sister and I got an Aladdin board game from my aunt. We put it together and the first spin of the magic carpet broke the entire thing.  Wasted money. I felt horrible, and we never got to play!

We had that game too and the same thing happened! But my mom called the game company and they sent us a new one for free! Maybe it was a common problem...
  • I miss when peanut butter Twix had regular cookie bar, not the chocolate cookie bar.  And Fruit Stripes gum that had the temp tatoos on the wrapper.
  • Food: I seriously miss Cheezums. Not Cheese Nips, not Cheese Its, but Cheezums. They were freaking addicting... 'Course I was a really poor kid, so looking back they were probably just generic Cheese Its. Lol.

I miss all sorts of gadgets. I miss the old Gameboys that weren't 3D or huge. I also miss my Furbie (sp?) even though it was creepy, and I also miss my Tamagachi.

And everything from the '90s. Except stirrup stretch pants. I HATED those... but my mom wore them everyday and made me wear them too. Bleh.

  • My FI's parents still have a can of Surge in their pantry. Pretty sure if they drank it that it would taste the same because of the sugar content. And I also seriously miss Polly Pockets.
And did anybody play Taz Mania on the sega genesis? When I was a kid I was SERIOUSLY afraid of the rock men, the ones with the forked tongues. They gave me nightmares.
  • OMG I forgot all about m&m 's crispy, i loved those!
I saw dunkaroos at the dollar store the other day and my sister was like remember those,LOL!!
Do yall remember fruit wrinkles??? they were so good!

  • Candy Train. It was an online game popcap used to have.

And I have agree with the other posters on the food... Sprinklins' (now I want one!) and Surge!!!
  • We had this game where you were a little hiker and you got stuck in a place that an evil sorcerer turned to a snowy world.  You had to solve all of these math problems in order to get to the top and get a present from the princess.  Then you jumped out of the window and started all over again.  We never figured out if it was a game that you could actually win.  The only time I enjoyed math.

I did! I also had Barbie detective on CD-rom. I miss those days even though you would be in the middle of the game and something would go wrong and the whole thing would shut down.

ditto Oregon Trail Food: Sprinklin's. They were little yogurt cups with sprinkles on the top that you could mix in to your yogurt.

Yesss! I never liked yogurt as a kid until those came out and then I loved it.

  • Where in the World is Carmen Sandiago!! Yes!!

And Dunkin' Donuts Pizzas, and Starbucks truffle lattes.  Sure, the latter was so rich I could only have about half of one before my stomach hurt, but it was goooooooooooooooood.
  • Does anyone remember the Yumbo from Burger King in the late 70's??  It was a hot ham and cheese sandwich.
  • In Response to Re: Foods/Gadgets you miss:
I miss the old Wendy's fries, before they started the real sea salt or whatever.  And I miss their old Burgers.  But I guess it is better for my weight that when I have an urge to go to Wendy's, I remember I don't like any of their food anymore.

    This.
  • Let me just say I still remember the time I hatched all four of my Tamagotchi's and had to go to my grandparents' house and my mom was frantic caring for them all while I was gone!

Doe anyone remember Peanut Butter flavored Snickers?  Not like the new crunchy one that's out now, but a regular Snickers bar with tons of peanut butter inside.  Yummmm

I am also bummed about Polly Pockets.  I loved them!

Melanie's Mall was fun and my best friend was so jealous I had it.  I also had this village called Jenny, I think, and it must have been the cheap store version of something else because no one else had one.  Jenny is my name, so that's probably why my mom got it for me.  It was so big that it was with all the Christmas decorations and I'd only play during the holidays every year.

All the PP's really make me want to buy old board games and bring them out to play on Friday nights!

Carmen Sandiego on my old Apple with its Raster Ops display was so fun!  I remember getting a Barbie that plugged into the computer but I was extremely disappointed to find it was PC only...

I used the Game Genie to play Super Mario Bros. on my Super Nintendo and I could never get past Bowser's Castle in the last level.  I always wondered if it was because I had the cheat codes on.

Being a kid in the 90's was pretty awesome.  I'm happy now but it'd be fun to go shopping for a day back in time.

On an older note, I really miss these Clearasil stickers that you could put on a pimple and it would be half the size in the morning.  And more recently, Graham Webb hair products being discontinued... I have my stockpile in the closet.

I for some reason think they are called Koala Yummies, I LOVED those. I found something similar, but not as good at Target once and they were called Hello Panda.

  • I got a craving for French Toast Crunch... hadn't had it in years.  Couldn't find it in the supermarket.  I learned they stopped making it.  So sad.  That stuff was AWESOME.
  • PS Crisps, anyone? Man, I can still taste those things if I think back to the early 90s middle school days.
