Looking for reco/advice for a Queens Officiant

My fiancee and I will be doing a non-religous ceremony this summer in Flushing, Queens.

We want something simple and concise, but refined. An officiant that can bring warmth and respect to the ceremony, but isn't overly formal nor too "new agey."

We've just started the process of contacting officiants, but are having a bit of a tough time.

Does anyone have a reco for an officiant?

Also, what is a reasoable price range? We found a good prospect, but she quoted $800 for the ceremony and $100 for travel - /> which "feels" a bit steep.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Officiants are going to range from $500 - $1K + travel or expenses

Celebrant Institute is known for spiritual, non-religious weddings and they are super nice there. I found mine through this and I am excited to have him do our ceremony. His name is Gerald Fierst. Pleasure to deal with and a real fun guy.

Judge Corbett officiated our wedding in Flushing. He's from Long Island but doesn't charge a travel fee to Queens. I think he's definitely what you're describing.
