Is this horrible?

We're going to a wedding on Saturday.  Is this outfit horrible?  Also, with or without belt? With out without the tights? I also have black heels or gray "bootie" heels.

ETA: the belt is not as bright in person as it is in the picture.  It's actually a deeper red color.

Re: Is this horrible?

  • I have horrible fashion advice but...I like it with the belt, without the tights.
  • Definitely with the belt.  I think it's pretty cute with the belt.  Without the belt . . . YAWN!
  • I like it with the belt.  I think its too early for tights and I'm not totally digging the shoes - maybe too matchy matchy?

  • With the belt, without the tights, black heels.
  • Definitely not with the tights. They dress it down and make it look more appropriate for the office.

I could take or leave the belt. I also think the belt makes it look a little more funky and not as "dressy" but it's cute and not as bad as the tights.

</div><div>See that's what I was worried about.  I LOVE those shoes (they're the same ones from my sig, I wore them after my teal shoes broke) but they just don't seem to look right with this outfit, </div>

  • Love the dress and belt. Hate the tights with those shoes. I don't think shoe ankle straps go well with tights.

  • It's cute, but it looks a little like office-wear, not so much a party dress.  Maybe if you go without the belt, no tights, wear strappy black shoes and a pretty wrap it'll look more like a wedding outfit.

  • If you have time to shop

  • The general consensus seems to be belt, no tights, and black shoes.  I was sorta thinking the same thing too, so I think that's what I'll go with.  Thanks ladies! :)

  • OMG I love those shoes Ricks!!  I'm actually going shopping with a friend tomorrow, but I promised myself I wouldn't spend money on anything that's not a necessity.  Someone convince me these are a necessity, please!

  • I love heels but can't wear them so buy some and wear them in my honor! I just noticed they are from Zappos so no Sat shoes :(

  • Dangit.  They're Rocket Dog though and I know they sell that brand at DSW.  Maybe I'll take a look tomorrow and see.

  • I'm kind of going against the general consensus here but I vote no belt, black heels and then accessorize it with a great long, layered necklace and some bracelets!

I say that because I like the whole outfit with the belt but it reminds me of office wear, I think that dress can be styled fantastically with some great accessories to dress it up for a wedding!

I agree with this.  The belt look made me think automatically - office wear.  I like the suggestion Jenna gave you about the long layered necklaces.
