Evening?

2

Re: Evening?

  • The one they made after the Ravens lost their playoff game practically made me fall off the couch because I was laughing so hard.  Pittsburgh Dad's neighbor is a Ravens fan and all around jerk (according to PD that is) so it's a lot of PD making fun of that.
  • I just tested out the subtitles on one and think the issue is that Pittsburghese is not a known language for translating purposes.

[QUOTE]Hey hey hey. <strong> I'm lying on the couch with the dog and we were playing Just Dance for a while</strong>.  Well, he sat on the rug and watched me. DJ, I'm really sorry to hear about your mom and I'm going to send up a prayer for a good outcome for all of you.  Hang in there, okay?  MK, you rock it girl.  What is the chip for?  LOOPY HI.  I missed your job news!  That's fantastic!  I know how long you've wanted this, I'm really happy for you! Lyn, how are the cheesesteaks in NOLA?

Is that a good workout? I'm dying to try it because I love dancing and it always kept me in decent shape back in the day. I've been losing weight, and walking on the treadmill is getting boring. I need something fun/upbeat.
  • Eagles it would have been awesome if he danced too!
  • Eagles - Embarassed It was a Steak-Umm.  Decent roll though.

I did have a turkey sandwich with an Amorosa roll yesterday.  I've been dreaming about having another one ever since, but they are not open for dinner.

  • Evening. I just got home from my dad's FI's shower. It was a little weird, because I didn't really know anyone there, but the cosmos were good. And she was very gracious. I'm so excited for her to be my stepmom. Now I think I'm going to order Chinese. Although people offering Lynda suggestions really made me want spaghetti.

  • I'm glad you got a kick out of it, and again I apologize for the open mouth, insert foot-ness of this conversation.
  • Spaghetti sounds good too.  MIL made eggplant parmesan so I've been eating that but she doesn't have any noodles cooked.  Probably healthier eating breaded eggplant and sauce with salad on the side, than with noodles and garlic bread and nothing green in sight though :).
  • I miss working out.  I've been so busy lately I just haven't.  I hope to get back to it soon, but MIL doesn't have a good place for me to do it.  If it ever gets halfway not raining around here I'll walk the dog in the evenings which will at least be something.

Awesome. I like a lot of the songs they have listed on each version. I've been dying to get a Wii anyway, so this gives me an(other) excuse.

This makes me mad on your behalf. Craziness.<div>
</div><div>When I was in high school, there was a girl who was deaf in one of my classes. People bitched about having to watch movies with subtitles on. Really, people? You think her interpreter should have to interpret the movie? So stupid.</div>

<div>That really stinks.  From my limited exposure to ASL ( a friend in HS is deaf and tought me some random signs - mostly about pointing out cute boys LOL) it's a pretty intuitive language and really kind of fun to learn/lose.  And I think it looks so pretty when you watch someone who is fluent.</div>
  • Yeah that would make me mad too.  I actually signed up for a sign language class in college, but I ended up having to drop it because another class I needed to graduate got moved around at the last minute.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Evening? : I have a friend who says it gives her headaches. I can totally understand that, but <strong>if you insist on showing a movie in a class as a teacher you better make damn well sure eveyone can understand it if it's that important to show.</strong>

    Couldn't agree more.<div>
</div><div>And I do understand why some people don't like them, because they can be distracting. I do prefer them, but when I'm just watching with friends if they don't like subtitles I'll turn them off. But like you said, in a classroom setting, all the students need to be able to understand the material.</div>

  • I'm hoping to maybe join a gym once I get moved.  We'll see once I get settled in where I end up, what's convenient, and where we are financially.  Cost of living is supposed to be pretty much equal overall between Denver and Cleveland, but housing is a lot of more expensive there and energy/utilities/groceries are supposedly a fair bit cheaper making the overall a wash, but we'll see how it actually works out in reality once I'm paying the bills there and stuff.
  • It's a purchasing postition.  I like to buy stuff with other people's money :).
  • So I ended up with a meatball sandwich.  The spaghetti reminded me I had some meatballs and sauce in the freezer I had made up a few months ago. When I got the meatballs I saw some rolls in there also.  I heated everything up, added some mozzarella and there you go.  A meatball sandwich.

Chef D is just sitting next to me.  Not doing anything but sitting.  It looks like he is thinking about something,  Now I'm wondering what he wants.

  • Hi!  I just watched a hockey game and hung out with the mayor of Tampa.  Gotta love mid-sized towns.
  • I wouldn't want to hang out with the mayor of my town.  I hope the mayor of Tampa is more impressive!

  • That sounded snotty.  I just meant that I think our mayor sucks.

I'd want to hang out with the mayor of Calgary.

  • He was nice.  He introduced himself as "Bob."  It took me a while to realize that he was the mayor since I moved to Tampa after he was elected.

Also, Tampa beat Winnipeg during overtime.  Woot!  And our "meeting" was catered and open bar.  Double woot!
  • DAMNIT.

  • Boo, any!

We got a STD today for a June 30th wedding....in Brazil.

It blows too, because if we had known sooner, we absolutely would have planned to go.  We knew it was June 30th, but had no idea it was in Brazil.
