Re: Hello?

  • Eags I find that hard to believe because you seriously would never guess that from your pretty face. Have I graduated from fetus bride yet? Haha there are knotties around here that are like 18 or 19. Born in the 90s which is nuts.

I just went into the dark kitchen, grabbed what I thought was cottage cheese from the fridge and since I'm the only one in the house who eats it, just took a big bite with a spoon. It's not cottage cheese. It's yogurt. Not bad, perse, just surprising. I should turn on the lights. </div>

As for bodies, meh.  I'd just be happy to not resemble a Smurf in body shape.

I assumed that as well.  It will be interesting to see how it develops.  It looks like, again relative to the rest of Africa at least, Cameroon has a decent economy as well.  I'm learning so much.

Eags, I also think you look like a young hottie.

  • I have to say that one of the things I like about you "youngsters" on this board, and I mean anyone under the age of 30, is that y'all seem to have good heads on your shoulders.  Y'all are funny, and well rounded, well read and nice.  I also admire your honesty in calling out rudeness or stupidity. Snarkiness is also admired.

    I like hanging out here.
  • So what does that makes those of us who are over 30 Lizzie?  Tongue Out
Let's see.  The valet was a shitshow, there were no slow songs, they didn't announce that the favors were out (soft pretzels, we decided to put them out by the bar and the take home cake bags so people would have something substantial after drinking all night), the priest was drunk.  Oh, and people were seated in the corner.  Well, there were basically 8 corners, because the room was segmented.  Everyone was in a corner.  My friends?  Corner next to the damn bar.

<div>Hell's bells. Because you designed the room, poured liquor down the priest's gullet and had total control of the damn valet. Did guests need an engraved invitation to eat a pretzel? And lots of slow songs suck. Gah. </div><div>

  • Those are pretty much all dumb complaints. The valet one could be legit, but I'm not sure how that's something you are responsible for. Was the priest drunk at the wedding or just the reception?

    </div><div>Awesome.</div><div>
</div><div>I expressed myself badly, perhaps. Before I started college, I just hung with people in my age range and those who were in their 20's seemed inmature to me.  I admit that some of the freshmen I have in my classes make me stabby, but most aren't what I was expecting. Same for this board. </div><div>
</div><div>Also, I guess I just remember how I was in my 20's.  I didn't have a good head on my shoulders then, so in a way I just assumed that everyone in their 20's would be like me and my friends were then.</div>
  • Eagles, even if all of those things had been done the way the complainers wanted, someone else would've likely been complaining.  None of these complaints affected your ability to be a good hostess.  At the end of the day, all that really matters is that you & your H were happy.
The priest was tanked up on bourbon.  H got the complaints from his mother.  I also heard about the drunk priest from several people, who act like I should have been policing what a grown man was doing.  Everyone told me about the valet.  Ok, next time find parking on the street or pay for a garage.  I'm sorry they were overwhelmed.  We told them to prepare for 35-40 cars.  I can't help it that they weren't.
    Posted by EaglesBride2012
What a pain.  People suck.  I don't get what people's deal is.  My grandma was bitching to anyone that would listen that my dad and my aunt were drunk.  1.  No, they weren't.  2.  My father's only daughter just got married.  If he wants to get drunk, he can do that.  3.  Both grownups.  Neither driving.

And how dare you provide them a convenience  HOW DARE YOU, ASSHOLE.

  • I'm sorry that you're hearing complaints like this.  It's not like anyone got food poisoning at the wedding.

As for the drunk priest, if indeed he did get snookered, so what?  My priest keeps scotch in his office he'll share after confession and penance,  and my family priest loves him some good beer.

All rooms have corners, unless they're round.

Just let it roll of your back, sweetie.
