Hair & Makeup Trial

Hi!

I have my hair & makeup trial scheduled  - they are charging me $150 for the trial.  (100 hair, 50 makeup).

I know it's expected to tip on everything but I wasn't sure if this includes tipping for trials too?

Did you tip for yours? If yes, would you mind sharing how much?

Thanks in advance

Re: Hair & Makeup Trial

  • I tipped 20% but my places didn't really view it as a trial... they viewed it as regular service.  I was still sitting in their chair and using their services.  Not sure what the norm is though
  • Wow, that sounds expensive for a trial. I'm paying around that for the day-of. 20% is usually the norm for tipping.
  • I tipped 20% on both trials (I had 2 hair/make-up trials). I thought it would leave a good impression about me and maybe leave them thinking "This girl tips, let's do a really good job" lol but maybe that's just me.

  • I'm a licensed hair stylist/makeup artist...yes you should leave a tip. 20% is fine.
  • My makeup trial is this Saturday and is $125. Yikes...another 20%. But I will do it! :)

  • I thought you don't have to tip if the MUA is the owner of the company?
