MG's : Changing last name question

Hello,

When changing to your new last name, do you go to social security office first, then motor vehicle, or the other way around?

    Since it actually doesn't matter, I did it the best "travel way" for me which turned out to be getting my marriage cert, then to SS then to DMV, if DMV was the first stop after my marriage cert I would have done it that way. 

    I would do which ever is easier if you are doing it all in one day.

    I did SS first, only b/c I moved to NY and they require the SS card in order to make the change.

    In NJ it does not matter.  I have only changed my license.  I need to do SS soon though considering I have been married over a year.
